Everyone engaging with services in the Australian health system has rights described in the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights. While Sleep Smart delivers education and professional development (including online content, live webinars, and in-person seminars), we are committed to upholding these principles through respectful, safe, and inclusive service.
Your rights as a Sleep Smart customer
As a customer of Sleep Smart, you have the right to:
- Be treated with dignity, courtesy, and respect.
- Receive fair and inclusive service, regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, health status, or ability.
- Have your personal information handled privately and securely, in line with our privacy obligations.
- Access services delivered in a culturally safe and inclusive manner.
- Receive clear information about Sleep Smart, our educators, the services we provide (online content, webinars, seminars), and what to expect.
- Ask questions and receive clear, timely communication about course content, learning outcomes, schedules, and access.
- Provide feedback or make a complaint, and be informed about how to do so—without fear of negative consequences.
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you, unless access must be restricted due to legal requirements or where providing access would pose a serious risk to anyone’s health or safety.
Your responsibilities as a Sleep Smart customer
To help us provide the best learning experience, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information needed for enrolment, communication, and course access.
- Reading course information and asking questions if you’re unsure whether a course, webinar, or seminar is suitable for your needs.
- Participating respectfully in live sessions, including webinars and seminars, and being considerate of educators and other participants.
- Following any published guidelines for attendance, interaction, and conduct during live sessions.
- Not recording, copying, sharing, or distributing Sleep Smart content without permission, including course materials and live webinar/seminar recordings.
- Letting us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend a live webinar or seminar, where registration conditions apply.
- Raising concerns or feedback promptly so we can address issues and improve our services.
- Keeping your contact details up to date (name, email, phone number, workplace details if relevant).
- Contacting us if you have any concerns regarding fees, access issues, or technical difficulties.
